Los Banos is a city in Merced County and located to the East of Santa Clara County and the City’s of Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy on Hwy 152.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Los Banos has a total area of 10.12 square miles.  The city offers a magnitude of entertainment, shopping, dining, businesses and commercial hubs located right off of the commerce HWY 152 and easily influenced by the “Silicon Valley”.

The Los Banos real estate market is a well established market.  There is new construction going as well as resale homes. The name los banos has its origins with Spanish and was named after a natural water spring that feeds natural wetlands in the western San Joaquín Valley.

The quaint community of Los Banos has managed to preserve its small-town flavor and quality of life as it has accommodated growth and development. Located on the western side of Merced County, the city has grown into the second largest in the county. The Monterey Peninsula and the Beaches of Santa Cruz are accessible in 90 minutes, as are the major cities of Stockton, Fresno and the Bay Area. With nearly 160,000 acres of seasonal wetlands and grasslands bring visitors from around the world to the city.

Outdoor enthusiasts also enjoy the San Luis Reservoir along with other state and federal wildlife areas and refuges. The downtown district is a vibrant center of retail and community activity, hosting colorful special events and drawing residents and visitors to a community friendly downtown of shops, services, and entertainment centers. The unincorporated community of Santa Nella offers a rural living near Interstate 5 and the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area.

The area of Los Banos located to the west of highway 165, also known as Mercey Springs Rd.  In this part of Town you can find majority of the homes were built in the 1990’s and 2000’s.  The median price for homes in this part of Los Banos is around $310,000.
