Hollister is a city in San Benito County and located just to the South of the City of Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy. It’s also east of the little town of San Juan Bautista.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Hollister has a total area of 8.01 square miles.  The city offers a magnitude of entertainment, shopping, dining, businesses and commercial hubs located 45 miles south of the “Silicon Valley”

What’s The Hollister Real Estate Market Like?
The Hollister real estate market is a well established market.  There is new construction going as well as resale homes.  It is certainly one of the top real estate communities in the South Bay area.  There are many different neighborhoods to choose from, even though the City isn’t that large in respects to square mileage.  While there are a handful of homes worth $1,000,000+, the majority of homes range between $375,000-$850,000.

The area of Hollister located to the east of highway 25, also known as Pinnacle Nat’nl Highway.  In this part of Town you can find many homes that were built prior to 1940 but the majority of homes were built between the 1960’s to the 1990’s.  The median price for homes in this part of Hollister is around $785,000.

Another part of Hollister is the gated community of Ridgemark, located approximately forty-five miles south of downtown San Jose, just take Hwy 101 south to Hwy 25 (take Hay 25 South 12 miles) and just 3 miles south of Hollister.  The majority of homes were built after 2000.  The median housing price is also a bit higher in this part of Hollister, coming in at around $849,000.
